Clients that support custom headers can instead connect to
with an Authorization: Bearer <token> header - that keeps
the token out of any URL, logs, or saved config file. Regenerating
invalidates every existing connection immediately.

Gnat is a single lightweight Go binary for self-hosted, privacy-first web analytics. Download it, write a small config file, run it. No Docker, no multi-service stack, no per-language SDKs. Any backend just POSTs JSON.
Most self-hosted analytics tools force a tradeoff. Gnat aims to combine the deployment simplicity of a single binary with real analytics depth, plus an AI-native layer that none of the others offer yet: funnels, cohorts, retention curves, auto-discovered path analysis, and a built-in MCP server so AI agents can query your analytics directly.
This dashboard you're looking at is the embedded UI, served straight out of the Go binary. Export and MCP access here are both fully working, not just previews.
Gnat is built for one site per instance, matching the single-binary model. Features that only make sense once a team or several properties are involved are being tracked separately rather than bolted onto the core tool.
On the roadmap (enterprise)

- Multi-site management. One dashboard across several properties, instead of one instance per site.
- SSO and team access control. Real accounts and roles, instead of one shared API key for everyone.
- Priority support. A direct line for setup help and issues, rather than best-effort via email.
- Managed hosting. For anyone who wants Gnat without running and maintaining the binary themselves.
- Audit logs. A record of who exported data, and who changed configuration, once more than one person has access.
